Arrive in Chaing Mai and Check into your hotel and the evening is free to stroll around the night markets or relax.

Half day tour around the beautiful city of Chiang Mai, visiting Wat Doi Suthep, with wonderful panoramic view of the Chaing Mai Valley, then we explore the old city walls, Chiang Mai gate and stop at a local market. Optional Handicrafts tour or river rafting extension on request.

Take a scenic drive through the stunning countryside for about 2hrs heading north from Chang Mai. We arrive at a foot of some hills and the start of the hilltribe area. We have lunch before beginning our 3-4 hr trek through farmland and low lying hills until we reach a Lahu village, where we spend the night.

After a hearty breakfast with the locals we start our trek which is mainly uphill for 2-3 hrs heading for an Akha village where we have lunch. After lunch trek another 2-3 hrs which is mainly downhill heading through forested areas to a Lisu village. When we arrive have a drink and a rest before heading back by car to Chang Mai which is approximately a 2hr drive.

The Golden Triangle An early start from Chang Mai depart at 7am and head East through the stunning countryside stopping at the Hot Springs at Maekajan, which was also previously notorious for its opium trade. On arriving at confluence of the Mekong River and the Golden Triangle where Laos, Myanmar and Thailand meet, there are amazing views from the hillside. Soak up the views before heading to the Opium museum lunch relax and have a bite of lunch before continuing onto Mae Sai, the farther-most northern trading border between Thailand and Burma. Continue on to the town of Chang Rai where you will spend the night briefly stopping on the way at an Akha and Yao hilltribe villages.
